Accessible Technology in Communities
The RNIB have sent me information about ICT training that is available for community providers of ICT. There is funding available for this training made available by Communities@One which your organisation may be eligible for full funding of the ATIC Training. The programme will give you all you need to need to enable you to make your training and equipment accessible to blind and partially sighted people in your community. The programme will last for 6 days over a 4-6 week period. It will cover:
- An introduction to the project and how you can help make a difference
- Visual awareness training - to provide you with further information on sight loss issues
- Throw away the Mouse - using your computer with the keyboard alone
- Training in a range of accessible technology solutions including Jaws and Supernova
RNIB will bring everything they need for the programme. Contact ATIC - Accessible Technology in communities Team on 01792 325363 for futher details.
